Hi, my name is Kim8! I don't understand why I had this assessment?
Hi, I received a message last week that I was getting a PIP assessment call today. It was out of the blue, because I applied for PIP in 2018 and got rejected. I don't understand why I had this assessment?

Heya @Kim8 and welcome to the community.
That's a very odd message to receive. I'd be unable to answer I'm afraid, have you spoken to anyone from the DWP regarding this? Have you applied for any other benefits recently?1 -
Hiya, I am on UC and I have been for a few years. I applied for PIP in 2018,but got rejected. I got the text message last week informing me that I would be receiving the call, I checked to make sure that it wasn't a scam, and it wasn't, it was an hour and a half phone call yesterday, and I asked the lady what it was about, and she said it was regarding my claim from 2018 🤷♀️ I don't understand why after 6 years?

Yes, depression and PTSD amongst other things. I will have a look at the 2019 change in law. Thank you 😊

I think Catherine may be right here @kim8 the DWP are going back and checking previous PIP applications, it may be that with the new ruling, you'd received enough points to be awarded PIP, but I can't say for definite of course. Fingers crossed though!

The woman said that I would hear back in around 8 weeks, I was so exhausted after an hour and half of talking, that I didn't think to ask questions. I wish that I had now.

That's totally understandable @Kim8 especially if the call was out of the blue! Will you let us know how you get on please?
