Ahoy there, cap'ns, land lubbers and scallywags! Well shiver me timbers, it be a most special day today. Hoist the mainsail and scrub those decks, it's Talk Like a Pirate Day!
If you haven't already guessed, Talk Like a Pirate Day is a day dedicated to, unsurprisingly… talking like a pirate! It started as a joke between friends way back in 1995, but really took off in 2002 and is now celebrated each year all over the seven seas. Arrrr.
Have ye noticed any pirate-speak anywhere yet today?
Will ye be partakin' in some swashbuckling? Or will we be forced to make ye walk the plank? ☠️

I'm a quarter Cornish, so I'm basically descended from folk of the sea… in a very distant way. You bet I hold on to that one slightly interesting bit of my family history with all my might 😁

Lol love it I always say to my grandkids, wouldn't it be good if we could find a real treasure chest at the beach. They are taking in by it. When I get my jewellery box out my grandson has always called it a treasure chest.
