Disability Income Guarantee is otherwise known as Enhanced Disability Premium. Were you living alone or with other adults?

Then if no one was claiming carers allowance or carers element of Universal Credit for looking after you your ESA should have also included the Severe disability Premium. The means your ESA should have been £240.55/week (£481.10/fortnight) unless you were claiming carers allowance for looking after someone or there was some deductions in your ESA for something.

I been in support group since 2018 I only been getting 159.05 a week and I pay 12 week loan back I never cared for anyone and no one cared for me so I am not sure

That amount doesn't sound correct at all and based on the information you have given here you should have been claiming the Severe disability Premium in with your ESA. It's an extra £81.50/week. Less in previous years.

I'd advise you to ring ESA and ask them to claim it. Even though you've now claimed UC it can still be paid from the date you became entitled to it up until when you migrated to UC. It's not paid with UC unfortunately.

You would also be entitled to some Transitional Protection in with your UC, which would be recalculated once the SDP is put into payment.

Yes that amount is the Enhanced Disability Premium and on your letters it's known as Disability Income Guarantee. There should also be the SDP (Severe Disability Premium) included but it's not automatically paid due to the eligibility criteria. Please contact ESA and do as I advised in my previous comment.

Because I didn't apply maybe there will be nothing that can be done now.And because I moved over to uc 2 weeks ago they will say I am not on esa anymore and may not do anything now Thankyou I can ring and ask and go from there

That will not be the case. You can't apply for something you didn't know existed. I've advised hundreds of members here about being entitled to SDP and not one has ever returned and said they were successful in having it backdated. It should be paid from the date you became entitled to it. Claiming UC will make no difference to being entitled to SDP when you claimed ESA.

You're very welcome. Yes, please do let me know what they say and please don't let them tell you that you can't claim for it now that you've claim UC because that's not correct. Thank you also!

Been reading up a bit on this I am not sure I can claim it. It says if you have any adults over 18 may effect your claim my daughter lives home she 22 she don't receive any benefits. So maybe that why I can't claim it. But no one claims cares or I don't claim cares for anyone maybe this will be I won't ne able to claim

Ah yes, adult children still count as non dependents. As she doesn't claim a qualifying disability benefit then you won't be entitled, unless she's registered blind.

Aww thank you. You haven't wasted my time at all, I'm happy to advise I just wanted to make sure you were claiming everything you were entitled to.

This does mean that UC with the LCWRA element will pay more than ESA Support Group because your ESA didn't include the SDP so that's good news for you. This was one of the reasons why migration was original halted until 2028/29 for ESA claimants that didn't claim Tax credits.
