good evening all!
I have been on pip standard dl & standard mobility for 3 years now and my review was due may 2023.. it got processed march 2024.. where I then asked for a mandatory reconsideration as my needs had changed.. they came back with the same results and made me do a coc, which I did.. mean while I’d taken it to tribunal where I won enhanced dl and standard mobility.. which I’m happy with the tribunals also said I should receive this from may 2023 so I’m due back pay. But today I’ve been advised it’s gone to debt management. So I’ve called them they haven’t received anything but left a note on the system.

My question is how long does it take for debt management to receive this payment? As he said when they have they can look into me getting some payment back.

And has anyone had this before and have you managed to do anything about it?

Many thanks

There are no timescales how long it will take debt management to make a decision.

Have you had the decision on the change of circumstances (CoC) yet?

yes it got kept the same but the tribunal have changed the decision 20/9. My new payments have been put into place with pip also. does it take debt management a while to receive the backdated money? Thankyou for taking the time to respond

Ah now there's going to be issues. The Tribunal decision was for your first claim. You then reported a CoC so the decision that was made on that will overrule the Tribunal decision.

This means that the Tribunal award will be for a closed period and will only be up until the day before you reported the CoC. You will only be owed money up until the day before you reported those changes.

You are now back to where you were before the Tribunal made their decision which is standard for both parts. This is the problem when you report changes while waiting for a Tribunal hearing.

pip already made a decision before the hearing. both mandatory and coc. They have awarded me new payments and backdated from when the tribunal stated. It’s not a new claim.

Hiw did the situation het sorted out for you?

I find myself in a similar one. Well regarding a large Universal Credit Debt due to my ignorance & lack of understanding during Covid lockdown & having just won a PIP Tribunal with a large back payment due.
