When is the White Paper to be published?
When is the oft- mentioned White Paper to be published by the DWP? We've be told this Autumn but that could mean tomorrow or 30 November. Personally, I'm living in terror. I can't be "forced" into work. My body won't permit it. However, they can take away my CB ESA and PIP.

That's Budget Day. Are you certain that's the date of the White Paper?

I don't think they've given a date for the white paper yet.
I think they've just said in the Autumn sometime.

I assumed it would be announced on budget day along with all other financial issues they are considering and because they usually state in October how much benefits will rise in line with inflation for next April.

Hi @Zipz, I can't find any information anywhere about a date for the white paper. We'll know more on 30th October when they announce the budget. Please try not to worry too much if you're unable to work I don't believe they'll force you to.

They couldn't force me. My body couldn't obey. However, they could starve me.

They won't starve you, please try not to think like that. It may be that nothing really changes, we just don't know yet. We have 3 weeks left to wait to find out what's happening.
Do you have any support at home or from your GP?

PIP is my main source of income. I have savings so am not entitled to anything means tested. I've just paid £30 for prescribed medication. Without PIP life will be very hard indeed. I live alone without family support. The cost of living alone is high even without major disability. PIP pays for all the little jobs that the able-bodied or their families might do within the home environment. Like anyof us, I see a GP when necessary. There is nothing to be done about my disabling condition.

I am in a similar situation financially.
I'm not entitled to anything none means tested and I have savings for my old age.
I used to buy a prepayment nhs certificate for my medication but I recently turned 60 and I am now exempt from payment at least for now unless they decide to up the age to state pension age.

I don't know how many items of medication you receive each month but have you looked into buying a prepayment certificate.

@poppy123456 I believe I'm entitled to a Medical exemption certificate by my GP isn't helping.

Here's a list of what entitles you to a medical exemption certificate. If you qualify then I'd advise you to speak to a different GP if possible. Or even the receptionist at your GP surgery. They should give you an application form.
You're entitled to a medical exemption certificate if you have either:
- a permanent fistula (for example, caecostomy, colostomy, laryngostomy or ileostomy) which needs continuous surgical dressing or an appliance
- a form of hypoadrenalism (for example, Addison’s Disease) for which specific substitution therapy is essential
- diabetes insipidus and other forms of hypopituitarism
- diabetes mellitus, except where treatment is by diet alone
- hypoparathyroidism
- myasthenia gravis
- myxoedema (that is, hypothyroidism which needs thyroid hormone replacement)
- epilepsy which needs continuous anticonvulsive therapy
- a continuing physical disability which means you cannot go out without the help of another person
- cancer and are undergoing treatment for either:
- cancer
- the effects of cancer
- the effects of cancer treatment
These are the only conditions that entitle you to a medical exemption certificate. If you’re not sure about the name of your condition, speak to your doctor.

I pay about £11-45p Per month for my prescriptions, I'm on 12 lots of medications now so it saves a lot of money over the year.
I think it's paid over a 10 month period unless it's changed since I started a few years a go.

The name of my condition? I knew it before my GP, having been diagnosed after many years by an international expert. That said, I'm not sure whether I'm entitled after all. Thanks, Zipz
