I am eligible for it and have got it over the last few years but I switched supplier on the 2nd October so don't know if I will get it

Are you living in England or Wales? If so and you qualify you will automatically receive it. The criteria is not just low income, it also depends on the size and age of the property you live in.
If Scotland the rules are different.

Received Warm Home Discount from Ovo because DWP had made them I was eligible

The online check told me I wasn't eligible last year, but I then received a text from my supplier saying that I could fill in a form online and they'd check my eligibility. A short time later I received the WHD payment without any further communication from them.
Very strange but I wouldn't rely on the online check 100% now.

I got discount few years ago but now not eligible doesn't make sense still in same house

The criteria changed. Previously it was paid to you based purely on low income. Now that's not the only criteria. The size and age of the home you live in is also looked at.
I was entitled last year. This year I moved house and my home is bigger but I'm not entitled. It is what is and there's nothing we can do sadly.

I got my letter this morning in forming me it will be automatically and I don't need to do anything.

I haven't got it since the Tories changed the rules. Idk why, I'm still on IRESA, PIP and I still live in the same house with British Gas as my energy supplier. It was a struggle to manage before but I basically hardly ever have the heating on at all now. I've tried going on the website to see why I'm not eligible but they keep asking for information that I don't have, I am in social housing I don't have all the details about certificates and all that, I don't even know what year the house was built!

This only asks a few questions such as postcode and benefit status.
If you aren't eligible it will be because your home hasn't been deemed as having high energy costs.
This is judged purely by property type, size, date etc and not on your actual bills, income or health needs to use a lot of heating.

You can check your home's energy certificate online using the postcode.
That shows which band your home is in and also the area of the floorspace in square metres as well as other information.

You don’t have to have the information now. All you need is postcode and house number. Once you put those in it should come up with the size of your home. Well, it did for me when I checked.

My home has never had an energy certificate nor is the floor space listed anywhere. i get the WHD every year. Probably because I've lived here for a long long time.
