Hi could someone advice me I change over to UC from ESA I'm on lcwra .I was asked to go to appointment today for my first claiment commitment.when I got there the work coach asking me about my job search I explain to him that I'm on lcwra he then said let me check with another colleague as he didn't have high security.it came back and confirmed I'm on lcwra.he then said you don't need to look for work go home and accept your commitment on your journal.i went to accept my commitment but it said I had to look for a job for 30 a,week .so in never accepted it .I then wrote in my journal explaining what happen at jobcentre.i then got a message from another person on UC saying that I been moved to lwc.i haven't had any change of circumstances.so can UC just change me over.i gave a UC50 form in march from ESA and that's the category I was put in lcwra and I confirmed this with ESA what do I do.im at my witts end I have situation anxiety and this hasn't helped

When you were claiming ESA were you in the Support Group? LCWRA is the same as the Support Group. LCW was Work Related Activity Group for ESA (WRAG)

Is this a recent claim for UC?

To my understanding they just can't change you over from one thing to another without the proper process

Is this a recent claim for UC? I'm assuming it is?

Then that will be the reason. ESA need to send your details across to UC and until that's done they will not know you were in the Support Group. Once it's done you'll need to agree to your claimant commitments, which will be to report all changes and check your journal.

If you haven't already, please put a message onto your journal and tell them you were in the Support Group for ESA. Please also note. you do not need to provide any fit notes.

It's not unusual for it to take a few weeks.

Hi Poppy I don't understand how the UC coach has changed me from lcwra to lwc .when he told me I don't have to do anything as I'm on lcwra just go and accept commitment.but what they have put on my journal to accept as a commitment is wrong.i thought the only way they could change me is I had wca.but I already done a UC 50 form for ESA that how I'm in lcwra group.

Your commitments say you need to look for work for 30 hours per week. That doesn't suggest they've placed you into the LCW group. That suggests to me that they haven't yet received information from ESA to update your claim. Once they do then your commitments will be updated.

When you were claiming ESA how much money were you receiving every fortnight? This will give me some idea which group you were in.

Please be aware that when you ring the helpline it’s call centre staff you are speaking to and they often give incorrect information.

    Sorry, more information is needed.
1/ Was it a joint or single claim?
2/ Did your ESA include the Severe Disability Premium? (SDP)

3/ Did your ESA claim start before or after April 2017?
