    I have just received a email saying they want a sick note now. Do I just email the drs it’s says we have 7 days .

    Aren’t you migrating from ESA Support Group? If so then a fit note isn’t needed. They automatically ask you to provide a fit note when you report a health condition.

    They do not know that you were claiming ESA yet because your details haven’t been sent across.

    Put a message onto your journal and tell them you are in the Support Group.

    hi the person from the job centre said yesterday that they waiting for the esa information to come over . I have put a message on the journal and wait to see

    hi another quick question today I have received a new esa award . One letter had bank details without details on it and the other said that my husband will no longer being receiving income based esa it would be contributing based and £50 less a week.
    Just wondering why I am getting these letters if I have start the if claim .

    Looks like part of his ESA was contributions based which isn't part of UC. This ESA will revert to New style ESA and is £138.20/week, paid fortnightly. The ESA will be deducted in full from any UC entitlement.

    The reason the Income Related part has stopped is because you've now migrated to UC.

    thanks I am confused now just checked the bank and it’s there but I thought uc was one payment a month and it would all be in that .

    Will I receive that every fortnight

    ESA will be fortnightly at £138.20/week. UC will be monthly but the ESA will be deducted in full at the amount of £598.68/month.

    Your overall maximum benefits entitlement will be the same.

    UC is still one payment per month. It’s not such a bad thing that part of the ESA was contributions based. It can help to budget a little easier especially as UC is monthly.

    You will also receive class 1 NI credits for ESA but UC is class.

    It would have been if the ESA was all Income Related. Many people think their ESA was the same but when they migrate to UC they find out it wasn’t.

    For others reading this, not everyone’s ESA is part contributions based. (CB) Therefore this may not happen to you and all of your ESA would stop after 2 weeks if it wasn’t part CB.

    just noticed that it’s till the 24th of November does that mean he’s probably going to be reassessed for his esa it’s been a few years since the last one .

    We didn’t know it was contribution based

    That’s usually what it says for contributions based/New style ESA it’s because of the Xmas bonus. It doesn’t mean he will be reviewed at that time. Support Group is an ongoing award until a new decision says otherwise. Payments will continue as normal past that date.

    quick update didn’t receive the statement yesterday morning so I rung and the lady sent a message over to the case manager saying it needed to be completed. Something about carers not being verified and while I was still on the phone she said they have done it and I received the statement.
    Now I am not sure if I am getting the same or not there’s loads of money took off for carers allowance esa payments and rents going straight to the housing association.

    The deductions for carers allowance and New style ESA are correct. Carers allowance would be £354.90/month deduction and NsESA would be £598.86/month. You will then receive the ESA and carers allowance payments separately.

    Your UC include standard allowance, LCWRA element, housing element, carers element as well as any other elements you maybe entitled to.

    I can't tell you if there's any entitlement to Transitional Protection because I don't know the figures of your previous benefits. If your UC is less then there will be some entitlement.

    That means your UC should include following..

    Standard couples allowance

    LCWRA element

    2 child elements, if one was born before 6th April 2017 then there's one higher child element for that child and a lower child element for the other child. If both were born after that date then it will be 2 lower child elements.

    Carers element

    Higher disabled child element

    Housing element

    There will be deductions for the ESA and carers allowance, as I advised in my previous comment.

    This means you'll receive your UC payment once a month, ESA fortnightly and Carers allowance either weekly or 4 weekly.

    Your UC statement will tell you exactly what elements are included, the deductions and what will be paid into your bank.

    Some people's circumstances mean they have no choice but to take the advance but it is good you do not. Unlike owing money on a credit card, the UC advances are interest-free so thankfully not quite as bad.
