PIP for son

My son Jamie has just been told that his benefit has finished and he has to claim for PIP. My son has epilepsy and severe depression and the stress of not having any of his monthly benefit since March has just added to his problems. What I want to know if Alcoholics and Drug addicts get their benefits stopped. It is bloody disgusting that people who do have a genuine condition get penalised. If my son does not get this PIP then I will be going to see my local MP and to the papers .

Hi @LTrail,
Sorry to hear that your son is going through this and hasn't had any money since March. If he was receiving DLA he should have continued to receive this until a decision was made on his PIP. Did he miss an invitation letter or not make his PIP claim in time?

@LTrail Sorry to hear you're having such a bad time. Has your son applied for PIP? If not is he able to do it himself? If not you or another family member or friend can become his appointee. This may help to sort his benefits out. Let us know if you need any help..x
