It can be stressful can't it.

OP - have you thought of calling citizens advice to get a full breakdown of your entitlement? I did it via their live chat function. They ask for all your details and even work out transitional protection amount for you etc. It's really useful and they got it spot on
They'll tell you you don't have to look for work too.

If it's a new claim then yes it can take a couple of weeks for UC to confirm your details. Once this is done all appointments for the carer and the person that has LCWRA will be cancelled and you'll have no commitments, other than to report all changes and check your journal regularly.

Tbh we've found the process pretty easy but some people find it harder to do. Sometimes it's easier to do it over the phone so you're actually speaking to a human but ringing up can be a pain in the backside especially when you're on hold forever.
When we did ours, it was couple of weeks til OH had appointment at JC. The first one actually got cancelled at their end so they rearranged. Then they've to check and confirm details of any children, your other benefits ie carers allowance etc. Citizens advice told us to make sure we asked them 1) that my caring responsibilities had been acknowledged and 2)that the transitional protection had been added to the claim. Because apparently sometimes they can "forget". It's a good job I asked tbh because it wasn't actually included on our first payment - we got transitional protection in a separate payment 4 days later.
Then they cancelled a phone call we had. It's just a matter of waiting and you'll find you get quite a few messages on your journal in the first couple of weeks til they get it right. But it doesn't help when you're already stressed and not knowing what's going on and mixed messages make it worse

JacPoppy, I know it's such a stressful and worrying process but I am a bit further along than you are in this process and I can assure you that it will be okay. I think it's just a few teething problems while the claim all gets processed.
If you do need to have this phone call that's been booked in for you (you could write on your journal that you would like to ask what this appointment is for as you are a carer for 35 hours or more and do you need to attend) if you do need to attend the call this is when you can explain your caring commitments. As you are a carer you will not be required to look for work on UC.
Let us know you get on.

We claimed year last August everything was fine till Wednesday this week when had a phonecall to say as both on pip I get care allowance plus care element I'm now with a work coach as I have to now find work up to 35 hours a week I said this is wrong they said no cause i can have someone in during day if i dont commit then were both going be sanctioned

I think it's so wrong but it's wot it is I'm having to do it as can't afford not to loose our joint claim

This is wrong, as a carer claiming either carers allowance or carers element, you have no commitments. They can't force you to work, attend appointments or be sanctioned for not doing so.
I'd advise you to make a complaint.

So basically, they're saying that even though you're not well yourself, you've to now commit to looking for work even though you care full time for your partner? Are they suggesting that you get paid carers in for your hubby during the day while you're at work?

I am a carer & recently migrated to U/C I claim carers allowance & get the carer element, all the carers allowance is deducted which means 35 hours per week caring is less than £50.00 per week.. carers penalised again.

Carers allowance is deducted from the UC award, but you still get the CA paid separately.

You get it taken off your UC but given back every week in CA payments. Then you get carers element which is just short of 50 quid a week. So really you're not losing anything, you're gaining. It works out about 130 quid or thereabouts per week 🤷🏽♀️

How do you come to that conclusion..every penny of carers allowance is deducted & get carers element of £198.31 per month, that is £2,379.72 per year, £36.14 less per week than carers allowance.carer element over a year is £45.76 per week.

Carers allowance is deducted in full from UC in exactly the same way it's deducted in full from the old legacy benefits such as Income Support, Income Related ESA/JSA. With those benefits they added the carers premium but with UC they add the carers element. Unless you're receiving the LCWRA element for yourself and then you won't receive carers element.
Carers allowance is of course paid as a separate payment, the same as it is for the old legacy benefits.

Yes & carers element is £36.14 per week less than carers allowance for 35 hours caring ! Carers have been penalised for years, the DWP attitude is that of if you are a carer than you cannot possibly have any health conditions, what is a carer supposed to do when you don't have any help or support from social services due to government cuts.

I never received a carer premium with income support

Because you're not losing your carers allowance. They just deduct it from your universal credit then give it you back in weekly payments. Like they've always done, even on legacy benefits. Then they add on the carers element to your UC claim.
So yes, you get carers element of £2379.72 per year but you still get £81.90 per week paid to you in carers allowance which is £4258.80 per year. Total when added together is £6638.52.
Divide that into weeks, you're talking £127.66 per week. Or £553.21 a month.
You don't lose your carers allowance

Carers allowance isn't included in UC, it's still a separate benefit

Well you should have been. Carers allowance is deducted in full and then they include carers premium in the Income Support. When did you stop claiming Income Support?

Being a carer doesn't stop your health conditions. You can report your health conditions and provide a fit note. This will start the work capability assessment process off. If you're then found to have LCWRA then you'll be entitled to extra money from the 4th month after you provided your first fit note.
The carers element will stop but the LCWRA element will be added, which is £416.19/month. This would mean you'll be £217.88 better off per month.
Carers allowance would continue to be paid as a separate payment and the deductions would also continue.
