I don't get why you think you don't get both and you're going to be out of pocket.

You get carers allowance deducted out of UC because they aren't going to give it you twice when you're already getting it. If that makes sense.

You get it in payments every Monday. They aren't going to give it you again in your UC. The carers element in theory is topping up your carers allowance. Its an extra payment for you because you're a carer

Don't you understand that a carer only receives £45.76 per week in carers element due to ALL of carers allowance being deducted from U - C,do you think this is fair for 35 hours caring for someone.

Yes but you're still getting your carers allowance. And yes I agree, it's not the best payment amount but you're not losing anything

£45.76 per week carer element is hardly a top up,it is £36.14 less than carers allowance for the 35 hours caring.

Yes but you're still getting your carers. They aren't going to give you the same amount again in your UC.

How can you say I'm not losing anything when I'm providing 35 hours caring for £45.76

Because carers allowance is still in payment. Yes it gets deducted from your UC. BUT it's not as though you've lost it. You still get it. Then 45 odd a week on top of that with carers element. It's 127 quid a week altogether. Carers allowance every Monday 81.90 plus your carers element. So you're not getting 45 quid a week really, you're getting 127
