Okay that does look really cool.

I always look at lego boxes and think how cool it would be to own them... but then I see the price and I'm afraid I am not quite that into them compared to other things.

I do actually have a friend who became a designer for lego though! I wonder if I could reach out to them about what the design process is like and if they ever consider disability at all.

They are not cheap - around £80
but for the amount of enjoyment that I get, they are not overpriced.... They are superbly made (everything fits perfectly) and Lego support is excellent.
They do appreciate (if you don't assemble them) - I am considering buying two of any future builds (build one - keep one boxed) because they do go up, in price about a year after being released.
My first Landrover, cost about £75 but they are now  £225 - and evidently, there is a market for them...

I keep entering competitions to win Lego sets, but no luck yet.  I love the look of the Atredes Ornithopter from Dune.  That looks fun to build. :)

You will have to post a photo when you have completed it. Take care @Wibbles

Sounds like that'll keep you busy for a bit @Wibbles though as Bluebell has said, we'll be expecting photos when it's done. 😁

I think that Lego cash in on this craze - they stop producing certain items and re-introduce them as "limited edition" 12 months later at crazy prices !

Have fun with that. That's one I would love but looking at the size it's just too big and I don't have anywhere to display it. Lego is one of my hobbies too and have a glass display cabinet with several in.

I seen it in the lego shop but it's way more expensive in there. Smyths toy shop is the cheapest I've seen it up to now.

Ah yes, I forgot it's on there too. Enjoy.

I've found with my Warhammer minis that shopping from the actual store is usually about 20% more expensive than smaller hobby stores. I'm guessing Lego is the same then. How weird!

I have also ordered a "Remote Control and Motor Upgrade Kit" - so I will be able to "drive it"

You are correct - but the quality of Lego is so good that its worth it - support is excellent too - where you buy the kits from makes no difference to the Lego support - I have found missing bits before and support send them to you quickly with no issues at all !

Always good to hear @Wibbles I much prefer supporting the smaller shops too, so if you can do that AND get your Lego for cheaper, I see that as a double win. 😁
