DLA renewal
I get HRC for my child which ends at the end if June 2025 I should get a renewal form 20 weeks before the end. If I send the filled form back around February and If DLA decide to drop to MCR or LCR will my payments continue at the HCR until the end of the existing claim or will it decrease from whenthey receive the renewal form back in February. Has anyone had DLA dropped down to a lower care component and what happened in regards to payments?

Any new decision made will overrule the current award. Therefore the new payments will start from the date the decision was made.

But then I've seen posts that say they went up from MRC to HRC and payments were backdated from the day the forms were received by DLA. Therefore would the same apply if it was to go down from HRC to MRC ?

Usually it's from the date of the decision. It would not be from when you returned the forms if the new award is lower.

Hey @sarah098, welcome to the community 😊
I just want to check, were they posting about a review or posting about going from MRC to HRC after an MR or tribunal decision appealing the initial MRC decision? As that could be why you are seeing such scenarios.

They were posting about dla renewals, no MR or tribunal decision appeal.
