Hip problem due to muscle spasm

I would like to know why a person with cerebral palsy can have pain in the hip

I have a strange feeling of pain on the left side of my hip

Is it because I am more spastic in my legs due to my spastic diplegia

What to do

I am 49 years old
I have not been followed by a neurologist since I was 13
We do not have many resources to continue with a doctor specializing in neurology for an adult with cerebral palsy in a general hospital

I think I will need to have a neurological assessment even if my disability is stable

    Hi I do not have cerebal palsy but I have had a painful left hip for about two years.

    I have fibromyalgia and it was attributed to that.

    Have you spoken to your

    gp about it?

    Perhaps you may need an x-ray.

    Welcome to the community. This article by Richard Luke on cerebral palsy and Post impairment syndrome is worth exploring. It discusses aging with CP and unexpected challenges we might face. You might wish to join the CP Network which is a great place for advice and support.

    If you are experiencing new pain, it would be beneficial to see your GP. You are entitled to a review even if you haven't been seen for a number of years.

    I have CP affecting right hand side and have hip issues but not sure if it's CP related - I have an elongated hip socket which causes hip to click in and out of place which can feel down my leg and in back. If I go into spasms I can definitely feel it in hip. I was referred to MSK physio last year, but unfortunately I missed the appointment. I remember when got checked out in my 20's the Dr told me not a lot they could do due to my age 😒

    Hope you manage to have seen to soon.
