UKs internal budget
and Britains global responsibilities and strategic interests.
Word Salad
Where do governments get the money from for the UK internal budget and Britain's global responsibilities and strategic interests. 💕

Well I didn't vote for Tories Or Labour
I put my vote to the greens as a protest vote.
People assume that wars are inevitable same with Widespread poverty because it's always been that way.
Neither is there is a brighter way forward international Cooperation and a different system UBI could be tried other things the status quo ha been done for so long and failed
I know Starmer talked about change but when I think of change I mean change 💕

When we vote for a candidate I knew the green canditate wouldn't get in because the labour candidate usually does and I have no issues with the one we have its just I really liked Green Canditate as well and wanted to give my thumbs up because I liked what they had to say and policies.. 💕

The government funds both the UK’s internal budget and global responsibilities from the same source: tax revenue (income tax, VAT, corporation tax, etc.) and borrowing (through the issuance of gilts). The UK has separate budget lines for domestic spending (like welfare, healthcare, education) and international commitments (such as defense, foreign aid, and strategic interests). These are separate financial commitments, and one does not take money from the other. Cuts to domestic services are driven by broader economic pressures, not by international spending.
It's like when I receive my payslip each month, I know that my taxes, along with everyone else's, go toward supporting the national framework, including both domestic services and our international obligations. It’s just part of how the system works. I’m not complicating it; I’m just explaining how government finances are structured. This is not "word salad"—it's the way this country has operated for years.

Yes I've never understood it when people vote simply based on the Party of a candidate. If the local mp ignores people in their constituency, is deeply unhelpful and doesn't help or address their concerns . They should lose their seats
Hashtag we work for you and all that.
Unfortunately a superiority complex has been brewing amongst a good number of them where they say things like "That's not part of what we think our position is"
Yes it is that's exactly what your job is and you need to answer those emails represent the people in your constituency and represent then in the house of Commons .
Having said all that I most definately would exclude a Conservative MP vote even if they paved the streets with gold I absolutely dislike the party with a passion though so do t even bother reading their leaflets 💕

Seriously you are basically calling my belated hero Nye Bevan a liar!
I can have numerous jars with different labels on them for different things and then place the appropriate money in each jar labeled for different things.
That doesn't stop me dipping in another jar for something else if the jar for the attended purpose is empty.
TThey do it all the time cook the books 💕

Alsowe have no responsibility to fund Ukraine £3 billion indefinitely
Show me the international agreement to this ...there isn't one which is why Zelensky literally has been for years doing the rounds begging.
What happened was U.S pledged support and as their lapdog we fell into it along with many other Countries.
NNow he is looking forward to peace and a diplomatic solution
Because he has found out Trump is in and may not be given the bottomless pit funding from U.S as he has had so far.
UUkraine isn't even a member of the European Union so none of those Contries within it had any agreement to protect them either
It's a border despite that's been going on forever and could have had a chance to reach a diplomatic solution prior to U.S UK getting involved and funding it. 💕

I am shocked by some of the rhetoric on this thread. As a democratic country what were the first & second world wars fought about? How would we feel as a country if part of it had already been taken over by a foreign power, such as Ukraine losing the Crimea in 2014?
Ukraine has been fighting against an aggressor (they didn't invade another country), & tho no war is ever great due to the enormous loss of life, the infrastructure of a country being in part devastated, we must surely support Ukraine whatever may.
We should revisit the past with humility, & learn from it. Wars come at a terrible cost in human lives, but have given us the continuing freedom we're all priviledged to know; shouldn't we help Ukraine to remain democratic & support all of their hopes about this?
Misinformation is sadly skewing some members perspective, & trying to say that supporting Ukraine is in some way 'diverting' money from disabled people is one of them.

TThat should read border despite or rather it was until it was funded and now spiraling out of serious control....
It is definitely not in our strategic interests or anybodies intreat to come so close to a world war involving Nuclear and Misiles that can sink our little island in less time than it would take me to eat a meal💕

Dispute for third time. 💕

World war 2 was neccessary no denying that we had an agreement with Poland if it was invaded which it was ...we would get involved
Hitler was a dictator hell bent on invading and achieving a global empire .
That and his killing sprees.
The lose of that world war was unpresidented
To be fair the sanctions put on Germany by Britian and co was what fostered the creation of Hitler.
Germany was in complete economic desistution ppl were starving as a result and Hitler used that resentment to target and kill off the vulnerable disabilities mentally ill and Jews.
He was a threat and although he wanted us to join him....we had an agreement

And even then when I say world war 2 was necessary it actually wasn't if they had not imposed ridiculous sanctions on Germany as a result of world war 1.
Now a third world war would be nukes and missiles that can destroy whole continents and could wipe Countries off the map.
Absolutely every diplomatic negotiations should be used to prevent it and the opposite happened. Putting all of us in danger 💕

The loss of life was the largest in history not to mention britian being enslaved in debt to the U.S as a result up till I think the 1990s. Correct me if I'm wrong but we had only just finished paying back U.S decades after it finished 💕

Of course no Jars were dipped into if you cam turn a blind eye to rationing that went on long afterwards 💕

I think personally if it hadn't have been for Bevan the nhs would have gone but it was so popular with the People they just dipped into it and started chipping away with excluding dentists and glasses.
Then he moved into housing and wanted free prefabs built for all those returning from the War. 💕

HHe had his priorities in order that man a true Politican showing what just one half decent politican can achieve......it's never been repeated here.
He said the nhs would last as long as people continued to fight for it......queue Tories nothing was safe with them sold off everything but the kitchen sink 💕
