Hello. I would like to discuss having an open Heller Myotomy with thoracotomy. I am almost two weeks postop.

    Extremely painful procedure. Coughing is difficult and really hurts. Has anyone gone through this type of procedure for Achlasia? I’m interested in how others like me are dealing with postop pain and recovery.

    hi @HannahJanuary1 I hope you get well soon. I would recommend you have a look at the coffee lounge to take your mind off the pain and procedure and I would recommend you visit the games room for some fun and games

    Hi @HannahJanuary1, welcome to the community. Sorry to hear you're in so much pain after your op. I haven't been through this myself but I've changed the title of your post so that anyone who has experience of similar things can find it more easily.

    Have your medical team been helpful with pain relief so far?

    I hope your pain eases soon and the rest of your recovery goes smoothly.

    I had the open Heller myotomy about four weeks ago. Recovery is still very rough.
