Hi, I hope someone can help.
iv recently had my pip review and my mobility has been extended but haven’t been awards any points for mixing with others and managing fiancés I was only awarded 4 points of other daily living Evan though Iv sent evidence of my every day struggles.

The little paragraph that the assessor has left on the review letter states, “ I looked at the information provided on AR1 how your disability affects you form. I decided to award you PIP for longer time as your circumstances have changed. Your rate of PIP has not changed. The information provided is enough to decide how much help you need on the majority of days. This shows you still need help with mobility activities. I awarded pip for a set time as your needs may change”.

Iv sent so much evidence to support my claim and they’ve Evan agreed my circumstances have changed so I’m unsure to how they’ve came about the scoring when I genuinely are struggling every day and had confirmation I shouldn’t be in work due to my mental health

Iv put in a mr but would like advice if the above is correct from the assessor? As Iv did mention that my circumstances have got worse on the review form

can someone advise how long usually a MR takes? And has anyone been successful within the MR Stage? I’m really stressing myself out about this and I’m having sleepless night because I really don’t know how I’m going to manage without daily support?

    Hi @sniper0121

Sorry to hear your PIP result wasn't what you were hoping for, that's really frustrating. The timings can vary quite a lot depending on where you're located and how many other cases are being dealt with in your area, so it's difficult to say. But maybe some of our members might be able to share what happened with theirs to give you an idea 😊

MRs will sometimes come back with the same result, but there are times when they do change the award at MR stage. Many people are much more successful at Tribunal, so it's well worth going forward if it comes to that.

It can be really tough to get through the whole process, but we're here if you need any support or have questions about it.

Have you lost points for your daily living, or were you hoping to be given more points than last time in the review?

Iv lost 4 points on mixing with others which they’ve gave me 2 years back. I don’t get how they can say I’m able to mix with others and this is one of the main points why I had to leave employment and I’m currently on high dose of anxiety medication (200mg sertraline, propanalol risperidone Iv Evan been diagnosed with anxiety and depression) Iv also sent off supporting statements from my mom who supports me daily ect my gp has also stated that im smi which Iv also sent off as I can’t be in social gatherings as it causing major panic attacks ect

Iv been given 2 points for washing and bathing as I suffer with seizures and had to have a walk in shower ( aid) Iv also been given 2 points for preparing food ect but nothing at all on communicating and mixing with others when clearly there’s evidence there that shows that I struggle with this daily I feel like all the evidence Iv sent which probably been more than 20pages long hasn’t Evan been acknowledged

Sorry to hear that @sniper0121, it's awful to lose points on something you still struggle with. Did they write anything on the letter about the points that you lost out on?

I hope the MR comes round quickly and you get a more positive result.

    **UPDATE**

Received call from DWP stating that they are referring me to be reassessed (after putting In a MR) due to the medical evidence Iv sent and they can see that my situation has got worse not just by my own evidence but supporting medical evidence. Is this something to be concerned about as Iv already been waiting 16months and counting to get this sorted now Iv gotta go through the WHOLE assessment process again 😭🤦 the lady on the phone was lovely but not sure how this is going to work if I don’t get awarded daily living do I have to do another MR if I don’t agree with the assessment outcome? @poppy123456 @Rosie_Scope

It's very unusual for this to happen at MR stage. It would be impossible to prodict what the decision will be after that assessment has taken place. All you can do now I'm afraid is wait for a date for that assessment. I have no idea how long that will be. Once it's done and the report is written and returned a decision can take up to 12 weeks.

Your existing award will continue in the meantime.

she said it is because the last tiMe I had an assessment was back in 2021 and my condition has gotten worse with the Evidence provided to them. She said that it may be a paper assessment but it could take place via telephone. I did ask how long this would take as mentioned Iv already been waiting 16months. She said it could be a further 6 weeks to have an assessment? Surely this time frame isn’t right? Now wounder my circumstances have got worse because how long it’s taking @poppy123456

I'm afraid there are no timescales, it's a little like asking how long is a piece of string. Hopefully, it won't be too long.

hi, just wanted to share my experience, I was sent my review form back in August 2023 and a decision was made a year later which I was not happy with. I called them and asked for mandatory reconsideration then sent supporting evidence, but most importantly, I sent a letter that I wrote explaining my deteriorating health and why I think the decision maker was wrong. I literally broke down what was said point by point explaining why what they said was incorrect. I ended up writing around eight pages front and back and sent it to them. Five weeks later I called to ask for an update and the automated service told me that my next payment would be higher than my usual payment which made me realise that I had won my mandatory reconsideration. I was not seen and did not speak to anyone during my review or the mandatory reconsideration everything was paper-based.

@Faithlong this is what Iv have done. myself and my mom have wrote all together around 15 full a4 pages full of each daily part I struggle with especially mixing with people and communicating with others that’s not Evan including the gp reports and summary’s from mental health and for them to call me out the blue (luckily wasn’t on unknown else I would t of answered it) has made my anxiety and never a go so much worse I haven’t Evan eaten all day because of it. I’m not Evan writing this for sympathy but I Don’t think I can mentally cope with this much longer it’s making me feel so awful about myself Evan my dogs starting to sense I’m getting down

I truly think the system is set up to make us feel like we don’t deserve help. But you have to fight for yourself! When I was going through it, I was prepared to go all the way to court because I was sat and I was certain I was going to win. I think you should stop thinking about this today. Eat something spend some time with your dogs. Wake up tomorrow. Write yourself a plan on every possible outcome and how you will respond to that. You have got to fight for yourself. You know your health conditions better than anyone, but this is not to dismiss your anxiety. I was exactly where you are couldn’t sleep couldn’t eat and the people on this website really got me through what I needed to do and how I needed to do it. And since you are capable of writing to them, why don’t you jot down all of your feelings? Literally all of them and then put them to decide and get on with what you need to do that usually helps me. I wish you the best of luck.
