Hi everyone, my name is blessdbelle! Refused PIP, what can I do now?

I have just been refused PIP, despite all the challenges i wrote in my assessment form. the points were returned to me as zero despite suffering anxiety, depression and for years. they said I have been able to complete level 3 training so I am fine. Can someone help please?

Hi @blessdbelle and welcome to the community!
I'm sorry to hear this, this is always such an incredibly infuriating situation but unfortunately it is really common to be turned down for PIP on first attempt. The next step would be to challenge a PIP decision and this website gives you information on how to do so.
I hope you are okay, please reach out if you have any other questions or would like further support.

You should put the Mandatory Reconsideration request in writing stating where and why you think you should have scored those points.
When you filled out the form if you didn't include a couple of real world incidents of exactly what happened the last time you attempted each descriptor that applies to you then you should do that now. Adding detailed information such as where you were, what exactly happened, did anyone see it and what the consequences were.
It really does help to have some understanding of the descriptors and what they mean. I'd advise you to take a little of your time before writing this letter and have a read through this link.
You can also get some expert advice and help going forward from an advice agency near you. This link will help you find an advice agency.
If the MR decision doesn't change (unlikely) then you can proceed to Tribunal where the chances are much greater for success.

thank you Poppy that's very insightful I will keep this in mind when I'm applying for Pip in the future.
I'm very sorry that you haven't been able to get PIP this time would you not be able to appeal it?1 -
Thank you so much Poppy, your advice I am taking on board. I have been so depressed reading the letter and just reread it today and realised I have just today before the deadline to reply which is December 14, its says a month from the date they wrote me which is November 14th. I have been drafting a letter and I have downloaded the form on the gov.uk website. Do you think I ll be fine If i send a next day delivery tomorrow?

It's very unlikely to arrive with DWP and added to the system the day after. You have 13 months in which to challenge the decision. I'd advise you to put a reason in the letter why you didn't request it within the month just to cover yourself. If they refuse you just proceed to Tribunal.

MIght be worth doing the Mandatory Reconsideration with Citizens Advice, they offer this service are helpfull and supportive, and currently have a high success rate with them.
Good luck,I hope it goes well.
