moving benefit

hey guys,
recently received a letter and it got me a little bit worried
Right, so I've been on ESA for many years now support group
The letter is stating that I need to move to universal credit
I'm not sure why they have sent this. Well, I have to go through this stressful process again for fighting for my benefit? sending tons of evidence going to court again it was very stressful.
Have I done something wrong to trigger this letter?
do I have to move? Do I have a choice?
any tips or advice, please
The letter states the following I will quote
You will soon stop getting the following benefits:
- Housing Benefit
- income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
You must claim Universal Credit by 22 February 2025 to keep receiving financial support.
How to claim Universal Credit
Thanks guys

Although it's now quite a long thread, have a read of the opening post and maybe a few pages. It should answer your questions
Citizens Advice also have a guide

so is ESA going to be discontinued…
is everybody moving over?
all this seems overwhelming,if that's the plan for everyone

Everyone on Income Related ESA, yes.
The migration has been happening for a few years now but at a slower pace.
Now in the final year it's sped up.

what happens if they are paying me less on universal credit? I'm just assuming I'm not sure if it's more or less

If the UC award is less than your legacy benefits, Transitional Protection will be added to the claim.
This will bring your award up to legacy benefits level at the time of transfer.
It does erode over time as any new elements are added, or others uplift annually.
There is a good example of TP here
