PIP and GP
Does the DWP Assessor (case manager) contact your GP.
I've had my telephone assessment already and had my report back. Just awaiting a decision.
I just wondered if my GP would be contacted now after an assessment. I haven't seen any contact from them as of yet on my NHS app.
Thanks

They will do but normally they ask you if it's ok with you first or it has on the agreement that they can contact your GP to gather more information on your case.

Thank you. I did on the form say they had permission to contact my GP. But nothing showing on my NHS app yet.
Do they normally contact GP after an assessment has been carried out.

you wouldn't usually know if they have contacted the GP and it wouldn't show on the app either I don't think.

In the same line of PIP, i need some advice on my son's PIP which has been suspended due to his leave to remain getting expired in Febuary 2025. I need to apply for indefinate leave to remain before his PIP can be reinstated. This is the advice i got fro PIP advisor. . Is this a correct assessment ?

That's not exactly correct. It's very rare they contact anyone and you should rely on them doing so. In the 11 years I've claimed PIP and had 3 reviews in that time, they've never contact anyone, including my GP.

Your son's case is complex and for this reason I'm afraid you'll need to get some expert advice from an agency near you.
