DWP statement of reason request

hi. The tribunal awarded adult disability and dwp made backdated payment within a week. I have now received a letter saying that dwp asked for statement of reason. I am worried to spend the backdated payment now. Is this normal or should I wait for now? Thanks

Very odd. I wouldn't expect them to pay what is owed until they receive the SOR. Usually if they request that then any money owed means they will delay paying it.
