Hi im new to this forum and have read through some of it and found it really helpful ,anyway my son is 30 and has aspergers and a learning disability and has been on dla since he was 6 ,recently he was transferred to pip ,he claimed esa last year as besides his mental heath problems he has had to give up his part time job due to a worsening back condition (he had very serious two stage operation to put two rods in his spine ) he was called to an assesment this year and I went with him ,it seemed to go ok but when we got the desision he only got 6 points ,they didnt take into account any of his medical evidence concerning his back pain at all ,unfortunatly I didnt take it to appeal because of my ongoing mental health problemds ,I have bi polar and I just couldnt face it .so,is there anything I can do now im feeling better or is there anything else out there benefits wise ?

Hi tracyh welcome to the Scope community
Sorry to hear about your problem. I have done a bit of research and it looks like you can take the decision to a tribunal once you have spoken to the DWP. Click on this link which should help you more:https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/benefits/sick-or-disabled-people-and-carers/pip/appeals/apply-to-tribunal/ -
Hi @tracyh Im sorry to hear about this.
The whole PIP and appeal process can be so stressful, we created some videos to talk you through how to go through it.
