Council tax

I had a benefit check and they counted a payback from pip as my savings so I sent all proof of backpay recieved a email saying sorry for all inconvenience council tax reinstated just check my account they tried take 254 .71 out then put back in any ideas why they are **** now anxiety shot up

You will need to ring them to ask because we can’t answer that question for you. The good thing is, they didn’t take it.

The money was both withdrawn and refunded, indicating that the council recognised and corrected the error quickly. As Poppy suggested, it's a good idea to check with your council for a detailed answer.

Thankyou was resolved I sent letter from pip regarding how much and what it was for I have to say thankyou to this forum I am actually calling DWP and council which has always always been distressing it still is but getting information before hand really helps thankyou
