hello and good afternoon. I’m so confused right about now and don’t know weather to laugh or cry.

I’ve been on pip from July last year and in June last year I caught breast cancer. I called pip and told them and said my surcomestances have changed. Any way they sent me a letter and told me to fill out about my cancer and what’s changed.

I sent the form back and in September a got a text to say they have received it and only to contact them if my surcomestances change . Then had the same messages in ocotober and in December saying the same thing.

Then in December 2024 someone called me on private number and I didn’t answer. So someone called my mums number stating she was from pip and I’ll be getting a large back pay from pip . I called them today 3.1.2025 asking them about this. They said a decision hasn’t been made yet ?? I feel like crying!! Why have they built me up to let me down. Said someone will look at it on Monday 6.01.2025. Then will have to wait 2 weeks. I’m so down an don’t know what to do. Thanks Kelly.

If it was a scam, they would usually be asking for bank details. Probably worth checking whether your Mum gave any bank details to them just in case.

hi I just asked my mum if she gave any bank details. She said she didn’t. Mum said they didn’t even ask about bank details.

This does all seem very strange. How did they even have her number for your claim?

It's not uncommon for them to make mistakes though. All you can really do now is just wait and see what happens, unless you try calling them again next week and see if a different advisor gives you a different answer.

    hi , my mum

Is my carer so mum is down on my details too. Mum said the lady on the phone was lovely, and I’m gonna have a nice amount going into my account in the next 2-3 weeks. She said the she has to get her manager to sign it. But today they said no1 has signed it. And they will be in on this Monday. Once they sign it, will have to wait 2 weeks. It’s a waiting game. 😔

Hi @kwwarren1982 and welcome to the online community!

Oh no, I'm so sorry. These scam calls are really cruel. It's the last thing anybody needs when going through an already stressful and difficult process.

I really hope that you get a positive answer from them soon. Please keep us updated (only if you're happy to, of course). 🙂

Also, I hope you don't mind but I've added a bit of detail from your post to the title just to help others who might have some helpful feedback from their personal experience to find you.

    All the best,

    Holly.
