I know this might sound crazy to some but I've started going into blind panic as some people said have to take photo by door for proof of ID I cannot take my photo it makes me physically sick when I had passport taken and seen myself I was disgusted took me into deep deep depression I know people say let daughter take picture but I don't anyone seeing me not anyone it's very powerful I cannot hold camera and take a picture of myself for anyone

    I don't get why you need a photo by a door for ID, if you have had a photo done for your passport, then why can't you use that? The passport or any spare photos that is.

    Hi @Catherine21 Oh no, that's awful 😧 I can empathise somewhat as I do not like having my photo taken. It makes me very uncomfortable. I've never heard of the door request though. What company are they referring to. Is that for a delivery or something?

    I know Sainsbury's you have to have some form of ID to accept a delivery but that sounds really strange.

    Oh no lol my writing it's for unviseral credit some people said they asked for photo by your front door to show you live there it will trigger my body dismorphia I spend all my time avoiding mirrors shiny surfaces cannot stand to see myself

    Universal Credit did do something like this during Covid as people weren't able to go to the job centres to confirm their addresses and ID. I haven't heard about it being a very common practice any more, though. Did you hear from someone that they'd been asked to do this recently?

    No, Holly, this is for UC. Passport next to your face or a photo next to your door to prove residency at a given address..

    Hello Catherine. I fully understand your dislike of having your photograph taken or trying to pose for one. Almost every photo from birth shows me looking down or away with an unnatural smile if I'm facing a camera. I don't hate the way I look so it's irrational rather than crazy.

    When I was asked to upload such ID, I explained that I can't upload anything and took my ID to the job centre appointment. I told the advisor they'd need to take that photograph of me themselves but they didn't.

    Rosie, this was in 2024.

    yeah you would like to think so back then but now everything is back to normal I don't see why its happening.

    Yes I read recently sounds so silly I Just can't have pictures taken it makes me ill congratulations on your beautiful baby girl 💗

    That's interesting to know. Whereabouts did you read about it if you don't mind me asking? I don't think it's something they do very often or more people would be talking about it.

    It's the lovely Rachel_Scope with the little baby girl, the only children I have are plants 😁 but don't worry, lots of people get us mixed up and I'm never offended! Both of our names begin with R so it's an easy one to mix up!

    Awful isn't it my daughters 30 last photo I had with her as a kid she was 3 then on her graduation my daughter actually said I knkw it's hard for you don't stress yourself I be ok had one taken but couldn't look at it and then for passport had to go into snappy snaps god was horrific it's not vanity I've had since 3 it's body dismorphia and there is no therapy in my area it's getting worse with age alot of people with adhd get body dismorphia it sucks how can you explain to people they don't get it thanks for replying

    Hhh same I was ducking and diving when ever camera came out wasn't so bad in 80s before mobiles times was good
