National Walk Your Dog Month

My dog was absolutely thrilled when he found out about this month!

He is 11 and a half now but he still loves going for a walk.

My favourite place to take him for a walk is a lake that is nestled between the mountains in the next town over. My dog isn’t bothered where he goes though, as long as he gets to sniff absolutely everything - he is a happy chap!

The photo below is him after a quite a wet and sandy walk on holiday last September!

Do you have a dog? If so, where is your favourite place to take them?

    Yay, dog discussion! 😍

Currently we can only really drag my three elderly pups around the block. Between the three dogs and two humans, only two don't have some kind of leg issue, so it's usually a very slow saunter. πŸ˜†

We do enjoy an occasional jaunt to the seafront where it's nice and quiet. It's just forests and sea, it's lovely.

And here's a photo of Albus after a stroll.

What beautiful dogs! Thank you for sharing

We call the type of walks where he is just sniffing everything a "sniffari" @Bluebell21, he's very happy as long as there is plenty of smells for him to sniff! Also what a cute pug!!

Aww Albus looks so content and sleepy after his walk, what a lovely dog @Albus_Scope

What a lot of lovely dogs!

I never had dogs growing up, but now can't imagine not having one. This is Milo, he's only 2 but such a joy to be around. He loves his walks and like your dog @Mary_Scope he loves to sniff. In fact so much so he ignores me throwing his ball and I end up retrieving it!

We love our walks and have a lovely park and walk way, which goes round the back of the local villages. It's a lovely walk and we end up down towards the river, although he's scared of water and doesn't go near it. Saves me having a wet dog πŸ˜‚

I have wondered! πŸ˜‰ She has them full out there, don't normally look quite as big, but they are long. They're great de-stressers as they're velvet soft. 😎

I miss not being able to take my dog out . There's some lovely walks round here too. I got her before my mobility went, was fit and very active when I adopted her. But things have changed since then so I let her out in the garden. It doesn't seem to bother her but she's an old lady now anyway and doesn't want to walk miles. My vet suggested a dog walker but there's no way I'm handing her over to a stranger plus she's very dog reactive. She's a big girl , height of a greyhound with the build of Labrador, and despite not long turning 12 still very strong. She's had me off my feet before a few years ago when she saw another dog before I did!

I don't know how to post photos otherwise I'd let you see her. She's a lovely girl and my reason to keep getting up in the morning

Aww what a cute pup @Annie_Scope, he looks so angelic!

@JessieJ that is such an adorable photo! Those ears!! I bet she gets some fuss and attention when you're out and about!

@birdwatcher she sounds like a lovely dog! I know what you mean about her being your reason to get up in the morning. Dogs are so special and can definitely make the day to day a little bit easier!

She does get rather a lot of attention, @Mary_Scope, rather too much sometimes & I've missed a few buses as people have stopped & asked to say hello to her. It has made her very sociable, so that's good. Just have to warn them that they will be well licked. πŸ˜†

I don't have a dog, I'd love to have one but with my mental health I wouldn't be able to take care of it properly. I love seeing them in the park though. If I could, I'd love one of these long haired dachshunds. I think they're so cute.

Ranald. Gus is gorgeous! All the dog's pictured are though. It's just I've got a soft spot for staffies. I had one, really quirky little character he was
