    Tried the first time with pip, he gets the enhanced rate, that was refused. We then applied with his EHCP, also got refused today. Both stayed about his ability to walk without aids.

    Still waiting to hear back from our local CC but I think it will be ongoing. Just wondered what other people found out through this process?

    If he scored the points in following and planning a journey mobility PIP then this will not automatically entitle him to a BB. For this he would need to score 10 points for being unable to undertake any journey.

    Outside of the automatic qualification, local Authorities have their own rules. My daughter has Autism but I've never applied for a BB for her because I have one myself and she doesn't go out alone, when she's with me I use mine, so there was never a need.

    I think it will depend on how he is when he's out, does he get anxious, angry, lash out? if so then I would concentrate on those areas. If the EHCP doesn't mention any of those then this is likely why that didn't help.
