Proof of address letter from landlord requested by UC
hey guys. hope you’re all well and 2025 is going awesome so far. i made a post here a while ago regarding my mental health and benefits i’m entitled to.
well i applied for UC and uploaded my fit note and other stuff they asked. ahaha they were not satisfied with my ID and housing proof documents so today i have a biographical call and the woman on the phone was saying they need a letter from my landlord proving i live there. they want the landlord name and contact details and how much rent i pay. this lowkey set off alarm bells in my head
now my issue is: will they contact my landlord and tattle about me claiming UC and benefits? i’d rather they did not at all. also note how the screenshot i attached is different to what the woman has told me, are these people that incompetent? can someone advise me please?

When privately renting they don't usually contact your landlord. Usually it's one from each of the above. They would only want a letter from your LL if you don't have any of those documents.
