Rent payments directly to landlord
Each council probably have their own process here, but I will tell you about mine anyway.
I noted in my journal, that I wished the rent portion of my upcoming UC award to go directly to my landlord, the local council.
An agent replied the next day asking for my tenant reference number, which I provided.
Today an agent stated in my journal, that the monthly amount for my rent was now going to be sent directly to my landlord. I can let them know if I want to change this arrangement.
There can be positive outcomes, with regards to dealing with the DWP;keep the faith out there!

Rent payments straight to a landlord are more straight forward than people think they are. Your rent will be paid to your landlord on the same date as your UC payments. It's the same for my daughter and has been for 12 months. To be fair to UC they've never been late in paying her rent. Social housing tenant too.

You won't need to provide any proof of liability to pay rent either because they will contact your landlord directly. You will just need to tell them who your LL is.

I've never had a single problem with HB in the 15 years of my claim. I expect this to be the same. It maybe isn't so straightforward for those in the PRS, unfortunately.

Ah yes, thank you. You are correct, they would need to provide proof of liability to pay rent such as tenancy agreement.
