LCWRA and moving house
Hi there is a possibility of me moving house. It will be a different local authority but in same sort of area. It’s about 16 miles away approximately. When I moved before my claim wasn’t cancelled I just moved to the new area jobcentre and I will be moving back to where I was before but I didn’t have LCWRA at the time but now do. Does anyone know if they will cancel it and make me claim for it again please? Thankyou

Moving house will not affect the LCWRA element as that will continue as normal.
Once you’ve moved you will need to report a change and tell them your new address. If you need to claim for help with the rent then you would do that at the same time.

Lovely thankyou. I was sure I read somewhere that if you move out of the area they make you claim for it again? It doesn’t help when there is so much disinformation and I wait weeks for a reply on my journal as I have no work coach.

No problem. You’ve definitely misunderstood what you read. LCWRA is part of UC and you’re already claiming that.
A new claim would only be if someone is claiming housing benefit and they move to a different local Authority. If they need to claim for home with the rent they would need to claim UC in this situation.
