I am extremely anxious now.Its the not knowing.I hate being on the back foot.At the end of the day you can't take the human element out of the 'Dr' and he is going to hate my queries about every element of his credentials ( I would). The talking therapist certainly did ( even though he did an extremely good job at trying to disguise his feeling on the phone). So I need to prepare how to open my conversation before even getting on to the subject of myself and it might not even go any further if he says something I don't like the sound of

Im very wary of these people because they have basically lied about me a few times and generally made my MH worse, I think they’ll be discharging me soon because I’ve shouted and screamed at almost everyone there , I’m not too bothered though because after seeing the psychiatrist and what they did to me was absolutely horrendous , I’m still not over it .
Please just write down what you need to say to them

I hope I haven’t made you more anxious .
whatever you need to do to feel safe just do it , if that means asking him what all the credentials are then do it , you have to feel safe otherwise you won’t be able to talk .1 -
No it's totally fine xx

I am glad that you’re more comfortable in your mind than you were when you posted this original question.
I’m sure that most people that have trained in the field of psychiatry/psychology have both good intentions and a broad understanding of the patients they are working with.
Best wishes with your consultation x1 -
My dear Psychiatrist from years ago is still listed as not only a specialist but an Honorary. He will be in his late 70s now

I hope I get a diagnosis Tommorrow. My guess is that he will agree with the talking therapist ( all be that brief 2 conversation) but he came up with severe Anxiety which I totally agree with.I used to actually think years ago that Anxiety was not 'a thing' boy I am eating my words now'

I suppose I put too much hope in this telephone call today. It was extremely disappointing.Lasted 20 minutes and there very many levels of incompetence.

I'm so sorry to hear that @Jane315STARX, were they able to help at all or was all of it disappointing?

was it with the psychiatrist and have you any follow ups ?

He basically asked me if I remembered taking a medication which was prescribed by my old psychiatrist over 20 years ago ( which I didnt). Then put me down for that. Then said he thought I'd benefit from talking therapy??? ( which is what I'd just been told I wasn't suited for and hence referred to him).He then told me I'd disassociated ( which I didn't ( I just went quiet because I was in shock at what he just said). So I'm sitting here now just extremely exhausted and depressed and at the end of trying now ( I'm not suicidal).I just feel like enough is enough and there is no hope or help.I called their crisis number and it said "this number is no longer in service!".It just about says it all.The universe or universal credit is trying to tell me something I think

@letitbe it was with the psychiatrist and he said he'd call in about a month's time

I've decided that he was useless so there is no help available as I thought in.the beginning.I was extremely fortunate to have found my psychiatrist many years ago and should atleast be thankful I had those years.

I'm really sorry @Jane315STARX, that does sound like a disappointing call. I've been there in the past with medical appointments that you hope will start something only to be disappointed, it can be really gutting.
Do you feel like the medication would be worth a try again?
I can understand if you don't feel like fighting for things at the moment, it's awful how hard it is to get the help you need. If you do feel up to it, perhaps you could ask for a second opinion.
Hope you're doing okay in the circumstances, we're all here for you if you need to chat it through.

Oh no @Jane315STARX that's disappointing. Is there any potential to request someone else? Stay strong 💛

I don't think you get an option for a second opinion within that trust in the NHS as they work as a team and he seems to be reasonably established.I am just in a very pessimistic frame of mind now having exhausted basically every avenue. But I am ok

I have just sent an email to the address on the appointment letter.Basically explaining that I feel very disappointed that the conversation only lasted 26 minutes and I was basically put on medication from over 20 years ago with a review in a month's time.I feel better for doing that.It won't actually help my current situation but atleast it draws attention to the fact that it's a broken system
