It's just occurred to me that weeks ago when I phoned my GP reception and asked for a medical summary.The receptionist who is a junior and very young was able to pull up my record and when I queried whether something was on there she immediately told me before printing it off before I collected.I am now wondering if someone I know who is a Band 6 mental health nurse ( not in my practice) but knows my name can access my medical records?.

    I always think to, when we send medical "evidence " off for benefit purposes who the heck can see them,where do they end up. Are they open for anyone to look at.

    I agree although I'd prefer someone I didn't know see it as aposed to someone I do know.This is my concern.Apparently from what I can gather just about anyone within the NHS can access your medical records but has to have good reason to and there will always be a sign in record of who this member is.My concerns are who ever check ls up on this?
