£2000 / month?! But don't forget Cath, this all brewed up with the Tories, they've made it as it is now. The only good thing about them being in charge is at least then we had an opposition. Tho eg for Waspie women it was admittedly mostly hot air, but it did make the Tories more cautious.

But Labour have done some good, even I have to admit that, eg they are taking the renters reform bill through Parliament + the new workers contract Raynor set out is better than before, esp if you're one of the unlucky ones on zero hour contracts. They could be a lot better of course + the rate they're going they haven't a hope getting in again.

As for UC, I haven't had any reduction over time after being moved from ESA, not sure what the others were referring to. Tho it could all change come March, we still have to wait and see…

Yes Bonclay, trying to contact MPs can be pretty dispiriting. You could always contact Debbie Abrahams directly, she's pretty genuine, speaks out on behalf of the disabled + is fronting their dept work + pensions.

As for CAB, what I've done, as pretty much housebound too, is email them and explain I can't visit them in person. They've then reached out to me via emails + someone's phoned me up. Last time I needed them (a couple of months ago) they got onto it pretty quickly once they'd got going (it took a few days). I'd try the same tactic Bonclay, email + explain you can't get down to see them. Let us know how they respond x

According to daily mail the government are taking Jobcentre vans out to different places to reach people like football matches, mainly for young people.

This does appear to be one of the new approaches for certain areas with high unemployment, confirmed on the Government website:

Jobs on wheels: Mobile Jobcentre vans deliver work support directly to local communities in drive to boost employment  - GOV.UK

    It says:

"The mobile Jobcentres are staffed by experienced Work Coaches who offer expert support with job searching, training opportunities and can provide information to those with health conditions or disabilities and accessing childcare costs."

I don't know if they'll specifically be offering jobs, but I'd imagine it's a similar service to the job centre just more mobile for those who might not otherwise be able to engage.

Will definitely be interesting to find out how well they get on and whether it helps people.

Given the quality of interactions I am seeing on my journal this wouldnt surprise me. It is very disturbing given the powers a work coach has.

I dont trust them sounds good but in reality its words start off all good then the rot from the top sinks down all about meeting targets get so many into work doesnt matter how go send someone with no arms to be a chef im so over all of this when you been apart of the system you see it for what it is a bussiness and no ones welfare is taken into account would take 20 years to change job centre staff to be compasionate caring its a toxic for staff and claimants

I have hope that it will be fairer than human assessors as it shouldn't have any motive to be unfair. But then again maybe it'll be programmed to not be so fair.
