Sorry to hear about your dad @Catherine21, it sounds like you've got a really special connection. Hope he's feeling as comfortable as possible at the moment. If it does turn out to be cancer and you or your dad felt like you needed some support, Macmillan are brilliant:

It's very sad that this happens. From the experience of my relatives, I can say that your father needs to have a supply of strong painkillers, and worried relatives should also see specialists so that they can be prescribed the medications needed in this situation.

And do everything to get your father to the hospital!

Of course in talk with doctors regarding hospital he wont go hes a very complex person even speaking to my daughter if we should tell she said no evem my mum who divorced years ago said dont it sounds awful to even thinking of not telling him i will end up telling him but will make no difference he wont go so in talks how to manage pain if he wasnt the way he was would be so easy for me to say right next move is hospital treatment ofcourse i want this i dont want lose him but unless you know the person its hard to understand !

Even if it is very difficult to put your father in the hospital, it STILL needs to be done. If I understand his condition correctly, now it is being treated much more successfully than 10 years ago. EVERY day is especially important!

Update I wasn't going to tell my dad but had to I couldn't make that choice because when something happens I could never live with myself surprised how he's taken it so will be talking to doctors to see next step
