When was the form supposed to have been returned by? There's an absolute deadline for returning it, which will state in the letter you received with the form. If you have a vulnerable marker on your file they can continue with the work capability assessment even if you don't return the form.
Those that don't have that marker on file could be found fit for work if they don't return it. You can contact the assessment providers and cancel the appointment and wait for another one. Please be aware that you can only cancel it once so if you don't have the letter you're waiting for very soon, I'd advise you to return that form ASAP.

A vulnerable marker means extra support is needed for returning forms due to your health conditions. If you've already rang the assessment providers then you don't need to contact anyone else. Did you cancel the assessment when you spoke to them?
Even though you're still waiting for the supporting letter, I'd still advise you to return the form ASAP because you won't be able to cancel another assessment. I don't know how long you'll need to wait for another assessment, sorry.
