Hi Jane and welcome
I don't like the word "Disability". Instead I consider that there are conditions that can limit your ability to do something.
Wearing down of your spine could certainly limit your ability to do things, but please don't think of your self as disabled.
If you can please tell us a little more about yourself and If I can help you with anything please just yell out

Hi @janerogers,
Welcome to Scope's online community! It's great to have you here.
The Gov.UK website has some useful information about what's classed as a disability under the Equality Act 2010. They say:"You’re disabled under the Equality Act 2010 if you have a physical or mental impairment that has a ‘substantial’ and ‘long-term’ negative effect on your ability to do normal daily activities."I hope this helps. Alternatively, you could speak to your GP to find out more about your condition.
If you have any other questions, then please do get in touch!
