I think that additionally we need to write to the losing parties, and even to former deputies - let everyone know! And also write to newspapers, and on television, to bloggers, if I forgot who, please remind me.

Got a reply from our PM, a liberal.
He's responded by writing Parliament questions to both Reeves + Timms - good work!
Good morning, FeistyPigeon. Do you know what his questions are asking to save me from googling, please?
I'm really not sure about Abrahams. How likely that she will expose one of her own whilst chairing the W&P Select Committee which Timms chaired for four years before her? She certainly knew in 2015 how the welfare reforms would affect sick and disabled claimants 10 years later..

Hi WhatThe, late reply (not been well)…
Here's the question my MP asked, as an early-day motion. I've only just read it, it's not really what I was hoping for, I might get back to him about everything else. I thought the voucher idea had been scrapped, though they say it hasn't. Anyway, here's the EDM:
Let me know if anyone can't read it, I'll paste a copy if needed…
I'll put his letter to me etc in a new thread in case people miss it here. On the whole I think it sounds encouraging, I know they're liberals but I suspect Davey has a hand on this, given his son.
As for Debbie Abrahams, I've contacted her for years WhatThe about the disabled etc (on other platforms). She's been pretty outspoken given the views of the current front bench. I'm pretty sure she wouldn't weaponise our protests against us. But if you've doubts, there's always others like Corbyn and McDonnell, or any of the Greens, although Labour has been actively trying to sideline them. My feeling is they won't have the influence of someone embedded within Labour, especially Abrahams, who is actually chair of work and pensions + has the ear of Timms.

I’ve emailed my MP (Labour) over cuts, waspi payments ( promised by Labour in the run up to the election), winter fuel, increases in the pension age, creating more older people being ill, and disability cuts. The answer? The 22 billion ( unaccounted for) black hole has made it harder to carry out what they promised. I also asked why the unions had been given such massive raises and nightmare future pension payments, our kids will be saddled with. The answer? The Tories wouldn’t pay out, so we had to. But no answer on why strike conditions weren’t included. Honestly, why anyone bothers with the two main parties is beyond me. I think if the farmers can be hammered, affecting future food sources, this government can do anything! But, rest assured, any cut to disability payments will have to go to a cross party agreement. Only today, the bill for tens of millions for the DWP to fight appeals, that were upheld, is massive. And that takes a great deal of paperwork and time. My message to anyone is, if you’re genuine, keep fighting. Justice will prevail.

Our liberal PM is a little busy trying to hold off WW3 and it's best I keep 🤐 on the other Party!

Only today, the bill for tens of millions for the DWP to fight appeals, that were upheld, is massive. It's why the first reassessment programme 2011 to 2014 was described as a FAILURE. But here we are again because the 2015 reforms were a sham…
My message to anyone is, if you’re genuine, keep fighting. Justice will prevail.

Ratigan via Twitter/X:
Worth noting that if all disabled people are expected to seek work, the UK's unemployment rate exceeds 12.4% - at a time when the number vacancies is dropping and businesses are laying off. This would be worse than at any point in history, including the 1980s and the GFC.

hi how long would take to do the cuts and surely can’t do them this year leave people with nothing

Yes try not to worry too much spenny. Others have said they would need to change laws to put them into effect. It might only affect new claimants, or it might be that they give regular medical assessments and try to remove disabled claimants that way. At present it seems to take several years before you have a new assessment, during which time you may be able to prepare a good case for passing the new assessment (depending on what's wrong with you).

do you think the cuts would happen this year and would stop everything surely can’t do that this year

They won't stop everything.
They can't just make all of us destitute much as they would probably like to.
