ESA to UC Migration Letter

It has finally arrived. Threw me a little at first and had a panic attack. Okay now. They say I have to make a claim by May 28th, so plenty of time, but worried about when I should make the claim. Should I do straight away or wait a while? And when you do make the claim do they stop your ESA immediately? And how long do you have to wait before the whole process is completed and you get your first payments? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    The best time to claim is the day after an ESA payment.

    ESA stops when you claim. You will receive one more payment, known as the run on payment. Claiming the day after a normal payment should ensure you get the full two weeks worth.

    Your first UC payment will be 5 weeks after you claimed. The payment statement will be available 4-6 days before your payment date.
