DLA / PIP hospital inpatient
Hi, my daughter currently receives DLA and I have applied for PIP for her as she is 16. We have not yet heard anything back from PIP and she hasn't had an assessment yet. She is due to go in to hospital for surgery - I know I need to inform DLA / PIP but which one should I contact? DLA as that's what she already gets or PIP because she has applied for it? Also, when do I need to contact them? Do I need to do it on the day she goes in, or can it be done within a few days of being admitted (it's major surgery so I imagine I won't feel like doing it on the day!). Thank you x

As she is 16 I don't believe they need to know, as her payments would continue regardless.
I'm on Universal Credit and never informed them when I was an impatient last year, as I have no work commitments and knew I would be out before the time it starts to matter (6 months).

Thank you for your reply @Kimmy87 I thought you had to let them know for any hospital stay, even though payments would still continue. Thanks
