Pip review help

Hi i recently got a random letter from pip saying they need to review my claim and will be giving me a assessment to check im getting the correct amount, its made me very very anxious because my award is not due for renewal until feb 2026, i also got a letter a few months back about the new pip law changes from 2016 but they said they checked my claim and i it was all the same the new law didnt affect me, i just wonder why they have out of the blue need to give me a review assessment i did think the new law decision was wrong as iv always needed help mixing with other people but i just didnt contact them as i struggle with it all the assessments and worrying, can anyone tell me why they think this would be a random review? Also i struggle terribly with phone anxiety i do not have a actual registered appointee but if i write everything down for each question how im affected can my mum read it out for me, if i give my consent because i wont be able to do the assessment without becoming distressed also could this review be happening because i am due to migrate over to uc by the end of april? And one last question should i tell them things have got worse for me recently or not iv had people tell me all different negative comments and i just dont know wat to do i got the letter today and been stressing so much i please need help

For the law change they will have looked at any claim that might be impacted. Even though they said the law change didn't affect your claim, it's possible they've changed their minds, hence the letter and appointment.
If you give permission for your Mum to handle the conversation, this should be allowed.
It's absolutely nothing to do with Universal Credit, they are separate benefits entirely.
You should answer the questions honestly about how your health is now and highlight anything that is worse than at your previous assessment.

Thank u for ur help so the review on 10th april is basically being dine early rather then feb 2026 when my claim is due for review again?
Theu have said that my claim was affected by the new pip law but thats ok im not worried about that
They said on the letter it will be a telephone assessment so i will get my mum to speak for me and relay all iv written down
I will also say how things have become worse for me and my struggles now
Do u think this is a good sign and nothing to worry about then?
People have just literally scared me as many are saying their awards have been stopped all together, or taken off them because they said things have got worse or they put in a change if circumstances which is why i havent done any of this, i just panicked and thought why would they review me now??? But maybe its a good sign and my award will change i dont know i just find it so distressing

I edited my reply as I hadn't seen your second message.
If it was a normal award running out review, they should have sent a form. I think it's more likely they've decided the law change might apply to you after all.
If they just ask questions about that area then you'll know.

Hi kimmy so i read the leaflet that come with the letter it says review will be done by the performance measurement team so i dont think its to do with the pip law changes, do u know what the review will be for now? And will it be like another new assessment should i tell them things are worse or will this trigger a change of circumstances with pip and another assessment to face?

I've never heard of a performance measurement team, here is some information I've found:
