Hi, my name is Annmarie86! Son's DLA claim sent to a specialist team, any advice?
Y sons just been awarded DLA after 12month I’ve tried getting the disability element for him it’s been to a desision maker who’s agreed back pay now they are saying my claims been sent to a specialist team due to a technical issue anybody had this before please 🙏 re so confusing and how long did it take

I'd allow several weeks at least for your backpayment to be calculated and paid.
You'll know when this has been done as a letter will be added to your Journal stating the amount owed.
Payment will be sent within a few working days.
(I'm guessing you are referring to Disabled Child Element under UC).

I had same with my eldest going to high dla from middle only took 4 days didn’t go to a specialist team so was confused why this ones gone to them

the same is happening to me. The decision maker accepted the back payment within days it’s 5years back pay for not knowing I had to tell them about high rate care. She called said the amount and it would be in my bank 5weeks ago on the Monday.. l The case manager then called me back saying I’m owed a lot more with my oldest child being on the element and they need to remove her before they can pay everything . It’s now gone to the specialist team how long did it take the specialist team for you please ?
