Issues about how much ESA I get each week.

Hi - I am due to migrate from ESA to UC ,I received the letter 3 days ago. I went online to the TurntoUs benefits calculator to see how much UC I would get,but when I entered that I received £481.10 per fortnight ESA,it came up as this couldn't be correct,it was too much. Now I am panicking that I've been overpaid for the last few years! I was moved from ESA contributions based to income based in January 2021. I also receive PIP at the standard rate for daily living and mobility. Can anyone advise what's going here as I'm panicking about overpayment. Thanks in advance.

If you'd like to put your mind at ease you can post a copy of your most recent ESA Award letter on here (but cover up personal details) and members will gladly take a closer look at it.

Usually its a page towards the end that has a list of different amounts of money it.

Hi,

The amounts on that letter haven't started yet. Those are the new rates, starting next month.

The benefits calculator will be based on the old amounts, as is your current payment, so they look slightly different.

Your payments are correct though, they are not overpaid.

Basic rate: £90.50
SDP: £81.50
EDP: £20.85
Support Group: £47.70

Weekly total: £240.55

Fortnightly payment: £481.10
