How is your day going?

Been a good day, Got everything done and then off to a visitation after supper. A good long time friend and auto machine shop owner I knew passed last week at age 94. I liked him well and was a good longtime customer of his. Good thing is his grandson has taken over and is just like him and still going there. He was there and gave condolences, told me he wants me to speak at his funeral tomorrow and told him no problem to that.

It is and mom is glad we help her out back for what she has done for us through the years. My brothers and I are talking getting her a newer car all pitching in sometime. Her current car has just over 300,000 miles on it and rusting out bad in several spots. Concerned I will encounter bolts that need to be heated up that will break if I touch them with my impact wrench

good afternoon everyone,
I hope all is well. Sorry to hear about your shingles @Elvisdog, it is very painful and can be quite nasty. I know this as I have experienced it myself not good. hope you recover how long have you had them? for about4 weeks when I first started noticing the symptoms, I didnโt do anything about thought it was a general illness.
I made plans to see a friend today but they are not well so have postponed our catch up. I shall be watching the rugby instead this afternoon, I am sure it will be a great one whoever you are supporting. Come on England!
Have a great day, everyone.

I knew the guy since 2006 and we had a good friendship. He did my automotive and diesel machine work which he treated me well. He was 94 and his grandson whom is just like him is the new owner took over. I was using another guy that was screwing me over and my problems went away since going to him. I know he had a good long life and ok with that.

He sounds like a really kind person and was probably very popular too. ๐

He was and never screwed a customer. I remember bringing in a set of 350 Chevy heads to him, the previous guy that did the machine work told me nothing wrong with his work. Smoke at start up. Took them to him, found the problems on the spot. Tore them down, valve guides were worn out and the valve seats were not cut right. Found 4 bad valves too. I was happy with his work, put in new valve guides cut the valve seats including the good valves replacing the 4 bad valves. Even got me new valve cover, intake and head gaskets. I put them back on, no more smoke and called him saying problems gone. Said good to hear to me and knew I was coming back
