Attendance Allowance M6 Toll

After several years of receiving a Mobility Exemption Pass for the M6 Toll I tried to renew my Pass today. They told me that Attendance Allowance recipients are no longer eligible as of this year. Has anyone else encountered this response to a request for renewal?

I`ve just had a look at the site for applying for / renewing the M6 toll pass, this is what`s there:

What is the criteria for applying for a Mobility Exemption?+

To qualify for a Mobility Exemption on the M6toll, Midland Expressway Limited is governed by The New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 and the Vehicle Excise and Registration Act 1994, the holder must be in receipt of one of the following and provide evidence when making an application:

• A V5 Vehicle Registration Document showing the vehicle registration number and the road tax classification ‘Disabled’
• A confirmation letter to claim vehicle road tax classification status of ‘Disabled’ and vehicle registration number under a Motability Vehicle Lease Agreement
• War pensioner mobility supplement
• Armed Forces Independence Payment.
• Disability Living Allowance (DLA) by virtue of entitlement to the Mobility Component at the Higher Rate.
• Is in receipt of disability assistance for children and young people by virtue of entitlement to the Mobility Component at the Higher Rate.
• Personal Independent payment (PIP) by virtue of entitlement to the Mobility Component at the Enhanced Rate.

I didn't know that there was any exemption for the M6 toll road.
Been using it since it was opened with about 8 journeys per year up to Manchester from the South.

I have a PIP award until 2029 at the enhanced rate for mobility. Previously I had a highest mobility rate of DLA

As from this year I am restricting my driving to 180 miles from home due to age, disability and illness so no point in taking up the offer as it is now too far to travel. Would have been nice if I had known about it over the past many years.
