Hello there!!
I'm a carer for a friend for over a year now and she has a pip assessment by telephone in two weeks time and her anxiety is through the roof atm...She's on enhanced pip for both (she has been sectioned twice for a long period in the past several years.) & her mental health & depression is very low atm (She has just lost her mum just before Xmas ) I do the caring responsibilities to help her throughout the week, but she didn't mention me as a carer on her PIP review form (I would of put a caring statement as supporting evidence if i known about it first on her review form ) - Will that be an issue and will the pip assessor ask her questions about my caring duties for her??
Thanks in Advance.

What makes me angry though..That she has sent her pip review form on time with the full medical evidence and with her mental health support worker evidence aswell (like she does every time when she gets a review form.) ,, so I can't understand why they are badging her with an PIP assessment & her mums funeral is a few days before the PIP phone assessment and she is emotionally unstable + with her low esteem and with her mental health issues on top of that - I can see this PIP assessment is not going to go well at all for her.0

The majority of people have assessments even for reviews. The assessor can't ask about your caring duties unless they know you help so during the assessment she needs to mention you. You can also be with her during the assessment can she can put her phone onto loud speaker. If she's not able to manage the assessment so soon after her mum passing away she can ring the health assessment providers and cancel the assessment and arrange another time to complete it. Do be aware though that you can only do this once.0

They have cancelled it to a later date because they haven't got a assessor to take the call 😒0

Unfortunately it does happen sometimes when people phone in sick for what ever reason. These things can't be helped.
