Do I qualify for a Blue Badge?

Hi, I have standard rate mobility and standard rate daily living PIP. I scored 10 points in the moving around section. Does this automatically qualify me for a Blue Badge or do I need an assessment/additional evidence etc? I was awarded my PIP in 2020 and wasn’t aware until now that I may have been eligible for this and for 50% reduction in road tax, both if which would have made my life a lot easier over these past years. When I filled out the form for the Blue Badge, it looked like they wanted a PIP letter from 3 months ago… My award was in 2020 as I wasn’t aware that I could apply, however it ends in 2025. Will this be okay? Thank you.

You may have to get a new award letter from pip as they usually want a current letter0

You qualify for both BB and 50% road tax reduction. For the BB you'll need your PIP award letter to be dated within the past year. Although you were awarded in 2020 a new letter sent to you will have that current days date on it so it will be accepted. For the 50% reduction then you'll need to send all your documents to DVLA along with a payment for 50% of the cost of VED. The vehicle must either be registered in the disabled person name or the nominated drivers name. https://www.disabledmotoring.org/motoring/road-tax-50-reduction you will also need to make sure you include the PIP award letter as well.
