Hi all im a new member and this is my first post so i hope ive put it on the correct page ..When applying for PIP [ or any other benefit ] its possible to get a basic print out of all your medical conditions from your doctor . This is free and it may speed up the process as then the DWP wouldnt need to contact your doctor to check what you have put down on your application .. its possible to get an " in depth " print out but this costs £30 , which in itself is worth it if it stops them having to contact any professionals you have named.. Hope this helps

It’s free to have digital copies of your medical records. DWP very rarely contact anyone for any evidence so people shouldn’t rely on that.0

The reason i put it though Poppy is because the DWP e mailed my doctors and asked them if they are aware i am in a wheelchair . Why would they do that do you think and also why on earth would i tell my doctor anyway , so thats got me worried sick as well0

If they have concerns about a claimant they can contact your GP as part of safe guarding.1

I'm sorry to hear that this has caused you some concern @carpetboy. Has your GP been in touch with you since they were told that you're a wheelchair user?1

NoTori , Im worried because " why would my doctors know" anyway , also i used to be a compulsive gambler { i suppose i still am } i kept this flippin hidden as i was ashamed but i put it on my form and spoke about it in my telephone assessment and stressed i hadnt told my doctor as the help they could get me i sought myself . However they e mailed my doctor and asked her about this also . In the doctors reply to the DWP it states they knew nothing of either of the above xo obviously it appears im lying . I received a generic text last week statng they hadnt come to a decision yet so the obvious thought im having is " do they believe me " . Im a new claimant , having just left my work of 40 years [carpet fitter }so its all a minefield anyhow0

If you end up having to appeal and inference drawn from your GP not knowing is easily challenged so I wouldn't worry about it. All that can actually be taken from the GP response is that they didn't know.carpetboy said:However they e mailed my doctor and asked her about this also . Which is also why sending letters from a GP isn't the best advice you can send because they rarely know exactly how your conditions affect you.
