PIP - circumstances changed since last assessment, need re-review

Hi everyone, since I was first assessed for PIP (Nov 22) my condition has deteriorated. I got my letter sating I wasn't awarded PIP, and I can do the mandatory reconsideration. After chatting with a Scope adviser they said I could do a form to ask for re-assessment since my condition has changed (not a mandatory reconsideration as it's not necessarily a disagreement with the original decision). Has anyone done one of these? I didn't get the link - could anyone point me in the right direction for where I can find this form?

You can't ask for a reassessment in this way. You would need to start a new claim. A new claim will mean more forms and the process starts from the beginning. Then you will have another assessment. If successfully awarded then you will receive money owed from the start of the 2nd claim.

Do be aware though that although you said your conditions have got worse this doesn't mean you'll be awarded. Starting a new claim using the same evidence you previously used could see another refusal.

If you go down the MR route then any worsening of condition will not be taken into consideration.

I have no idea what form you're asking for here.

If you were refused you can't ask to be reassessed as a change of circumstances against the original claim because you don't have an award. If you were reporting a change there isn't a form for that - but it isn't relevant.

You need to have a hard look at whether or not you want to challenge the decision to refuse. If awarded that would be backdated to when you first claimed. Any changes since the date of previous decision will not be taken into account.

If you now have more difficulties that necessarily mean that you would get more points. You need to review the point scoring system.

I can't remember whether you can run an MR on the original claim and submit a new claim at the same time. It would mean that any decision on the original claim would only apply from the date of the original claim up until the new claim.
