I have COPD and live in a leasehold flat. Last summer I bought an electric mobility scooter which was great but I'm now finding it too hard to get it out of the building. I am willing to pay for a path to be installed to enable me to do this at a cost of £4,500 but the managing agents of my flats will not give me permission to do so and I am worried about the insurance implications if I went ahead and did it.  Anyone got any suggestions?  I have today written to my local MP.

    Hello @Gilfrin

    Welcome to the community! :)

I'm glad to hear you contacted your MP, I think that may be the best initial route to take other than speaking to Citizen's Advice? They may be able to advise with it being an accessibility issue.

I'm also wondering, have the managing agents said why they won't give you permission?

All the managing agents have said is they've had no response from the freeholders - which is not the same as refusing permission - but they seem to think I'll give up and go away.  I've decided to write to the 3 freeholders direct pleading with them to give me permission.

I hope you get a response soon! :)

I must admit that I did laugh when you said "but they seem to think I'll give up and go away." Nope, I can hear you're a fighter!
