Longest pip review ever ?

Hi,
I was previously awarded pip at high care/Low mobility for 4 years
In mid 2021 yes 2021 not 2022,I completed my review form with lots of evidence from consultants etc..
And Xmas eve 2022 after many phone calls, I finally received a text saying pip had all the information needed to make a decision
Roll on a couple of weeks ago 2023!and I finally get a decision! Nearly 18 months later..
To top it off my new award is for 18 months and I disagreed with the pip points I’d been awarded so I’m asking for a MR (which I did over the phone, not my smartest move)

Could anyone please tell me if the length of the award is automatically took into consideration in the MR ?
If you have managed to read through this & make any sense of it,Ty

We have at least one other member who has been waiting 18 months and still no decision in their review.
If you disagree with the award length and you told them this then it will be looked at too.The most likely outcome of the MR is the decision stays the same. Only 23% of decisions change at this stage.2 -
Thank you poppy123456
To be honest I can’t remember much of the conversation and whether I mentioned the length of the award,in hindsight I realise I should have completed the MR on paper and with help.I was previously awarded pip for 3 not 4 years (typo)
I’ve not got my hopes up about the MR,
but Ty for your reply0 -
Is the MR for the award itself and the length of the award? Yes, you should always put the request in writing.

It's me that's been waiting for 18 months so far. Won't be pleased if I get an 18 month award after all this time!!

Hi @OverlyAnxious the wait in itself is so stressful and I was 2 weeks short roughly of waiting 18 months! Before I know it I’ll be filling the forms in again 😞I do hope you hear soon & get a good result & longer award,it’s horrendous not knowing1

Good luck it I hope you get the decision that you truly deserve.0

Thank you,I have had my telephone MR results and my award has been extended and my points increased.
@OverlyAnxious I hope if you haven’t already,that you hear good news yourself soon3 -
I read yesterday in an email I received from Benefits and Work guidance you can trust, that 2 claimants had been waiting 23 months and 19 months for their review decision they both had a good outcome and they both also received back payments of £9500 for one of them and £7500 for the other.
I was surprised at this as I thought that on reviews they don’t give back payments and it is only on new claims.
Did anyone else read this article?
I have also been waiting a very long time for my assessment review they received my form 21 October 2021 yes 2021 not 2022 ☹️1 -
Hi @te1
Yes you do receive back payment to the original review date.I mistakenly thought a review would be much quicker than a new claim 😞 and there are clearly a lot of people going through the same.Hopefully you will hear good news soon 🤞
I haven’t heard of Benefits and work,so haven’t read the article myself0 -
